Departure from Florence to Pienza

Meet your private driver at the lobby of your hotel in Florence. Set off on a fascinating driving tour to Pienza, named after Pope Pius II and regarded as the best preserved Renaissance town in Tuscany.

Upon arrival, enjoy a pleasant stroll through the picturesque streets and alleys that characterize this ancient hamlet, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. Built at the end of 13th century, Pienza is a superb example of Renaissance architecture and has remained almost unchanged over the centuries.

During our exploration of the historic center, we will stop in charming, little shops and famous Pienza cheese botteghe for a tasting of local specialties, such as the “pecorino cheese” and different kinds of olive oils.

Tour of Montepulciano and wine tasting

Afterwards, head to Montepulciano, a medieval town located high atop a hill in southern Tuscany, famous for its wine. From there, we will stop in two local wine cellars to taste winning award wines typical of the Tuscan region, accompanied by local delicacies.

Eventually, enjoy a panoramic drive around the beautiful setting of the Orcia Valley on your way back to your hotel in Florence.
